Spindle Nose Taper

Objective

To develop mastery of parametric 3D modeling. To expose students to the concept of part families.  To give practice interpreting working drawings, including chart drawings and section views.

Assignment

Create a parametric model of the spindle nose shown.  You will need to create one model for the 30 to 60 series and another for the 65 to 80 series (two “parent” models).  You must include the mounting holes for the tenons, but you do not need to assemble the tenon in place (for this assignment).

Generate a family of at least three taper designations for each series (Six “child” models).
