Hull Splashing Model Speedboat
- Prep mold plug (positive)
- Automotive fillers and paint are ok
- Construct parting board
- Fill gaps with oil-based clay
- Wax surface of mold
- several layers, wax, buff wait an hour repeat
- PVA Release – sprayed on waxed surface
- three layers, 10 minutes between layers
- Wait for it to dry completely
- Lay up mold
- Surface coat (gelcoat)
- can be brushed on
- wait until tacky
- bursh test
- Second coat of gelcoat
- brush test
- Fill recesses if making a mold (use no 22 glass spheres)
- Brush on polyester resin
- Lay on reinforcement
- (mold should be 3x thicker than the part to be molded)
- Brush on additional resin if necessary
- Lay up additional layers
- Surface coat (gelcoat)
- Allow to cure
- Demold with wedges etc.
- Wash PVA off
